ABOUT THE ARTIST
Studio creator: George Popovich
Theologian and iconographer George Popovich graduated with the highest honors from the Theological Seminary and the Orthodox Faculty of Theology in Belgrade. With the blessing of Serbian Patriarch Paul and the Synod of the SOC, he pursued postgraduate studies at the Institute of St. Sergius in Paris.
He studied icon painting for four years in the workshop of Fr. Čedomir Milosavljević and then studied fresco painting, having painted over 15 churches under the mentorship of Protomaster Deacon Miodrag Tomić (Zicha Monastery painter's workshop).
“The primary influence on his iconography work is the ancient Christian Orthodox art heritage, which encompasses visual theology, symbolism, and spiritual values that are deeply embedded in his beliefs.”
